Compton MC The Game is set to drop his third, and presumably his last, solo LP this summer entitled Los Angeles Times.
The rapper, who was recently released from a L.A. Correctional Facility for an assault charge, said that he immediately jumped back into the studio to record fresh material.
“Upon my release I went directly to the studio with producers Cool & Dre and recorded several records including my street record ‘Big Dreams,'” he said. “Thank you to all my fans as well for the support.”
The rapper announced that he would be releasing his third LP in June at a performance this past Saturday (March 22) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
“I have a highly controversial album coming this summer,” states The Game, “and not the typical controversy you are used to in rap. On LAX I’m addressing real issues that other artists might be scared to talk about on record; issues that need to be heard.”
According to Game, this may be the last opportunity to hear the rapper address these, or any other issues. In an interview with QD3.com The Game joined the ranks of rappers who have announced a final disc.
“Last album,” the rapper said. “Yep ready to go. I think three classic albums is enough to get my point across.”
Los Angeles Times is scheduled to hit stores on June 24 via Geffen Records.
