Spain has moved to the top of the FIFA world football rankings after beating Germany 1-0 in Sunday night’s Euro 08 final. Italy takes second spot after reaching the quarters in the competition and Germany is now placed third.
Argentina and Brazil were both kicked out of the top three, and the United States dropped a whopping nine spots to 30th. It is the first time that Brazil has dropped out of the top three since rankings began in 1993.
